OEA Is Operating Under Modified Telework Schedule

The District of Columbia Office of Employee Appeals (OEA) is operating under a modified telework schedule. This means that most employees are working remotely while some employees are reporting to the office periodically.

All essential functions continue to be performed.

Currently, prehearing and status conferences are being conducted virtually via WebEx. Evidentiary hearings may be conducted virtually via WebEx or may be held in-person with all participants wearing a face covering and observing social distancing. The Administrative Judge, in consultation with the parties and attorneys, will determine which method will be utilized.

Currently, all Board hearings are being conducted virtually via WebEx.

If you wish to file a Petition for Appeal, you may do so by mailing it to the Office or hand delivering it to the Office at 955 L’Enfant Plaza, SW, Suite 2500, Washington, DC 20024. Alternatively, you may email your completed Petition for Appeal form to [email protected]. The date of the email will be considered the date of filing.

If you wish to file an answer to a Petition for Appeal, you may do so by mailing it to the Office or hand delivering it to the Office at 955 L’Enfant Plaza, SW, Suite 2500, Washington, DC 20024.

If you wish to file a Petition for Review, or any documents related to a Petition for Review, you may do so by mailing it to the Office or hand delivering it to the Office at 955 L’Enfant Plaza, SW, Suite 2500, Washington, DC 20024. Alternatively, you may email the Petition for Review and any documents pertaining thereto, to [email protected]. The date of the email will be considered the date of the filing.

While the Office operates under a modified telework schedule, filings made by mail or hand delivery will be date stamped upon receipt by the Office and may be presumed timely.
