A District government employee shall initiate an appeal by filing a petition for appeal with the Office of Employee Appeals (OEA). The petition for appeal must be filed within 30 calendar days of the effective date of action being appealed.
The Office of Employee Appeals (OEA) has established the Mediation and Conciliation Program to try to resolve appropriate cases through mediation and conciliation rather than litigation. All cases are reviewed to determine the reasonable likelihood of settlement.
